Ask Question
On a bright morning in May 2017, the streets around Radiant Superspeciality Hospital came alive with a sea of determined faces and steady footsteps. It wasn't just another day in our community; it was our second annual Parkinson's Awareness Walkathon, an event that has quickly become a beacon of hope and solidarity for those affected by Parkinson's disease (PD).

A Community United

As the clock struck 10 AM, over 100 participants gathered at the hospital entrance. Among them were our brave PD warriors, their supportive families, dedicated healthcare professionals, and compassionate community members. The air was charged with excitement and purpose as we prepared to embark on our 2-kilometer journey.

More Than Just a Walk

But this wasn't just about covering distance. Each step taken was a stride towards greater awareness, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and a challenge to the limitations often associated with Parkinson's disease. As we walked, conversations flowed, experiences were shared, and a powerful sense of community blossomed.

Knowledge is Power

After our invigorating walk, we gathered for an enlightening session led by our very own Dr. Sikandar Adwani. With his expertise and compassionate approach, Dr. Adwani shed light on the intricacies of Parkinson's disease, discussing the latest treatments and management strategies. The room was filled with attentive listeners, eager to arm themselves with knowledge in their fight against PD.

Moving Forward, Literally

The educational portion of our event concluded with an energizing presentation by our skilled Neurophysiotherapist. Demonstrating exercises tailored for PD patients, our therapist emphasized the crucial role of movement in managing Parkinson's symptoms. It was heartening to see participants actively engaging, practicing the moves, and leaving with a new set of tools for their daily lives.

A Morning Well Spent

As the event wound down at noon, the smiles on faces and the buzz of conversation told us all we needed to know – this had been a morning well spent. For two hours, we had walked, learned, and connected. We had shown that while Parkinson's can be challenging, it doesn't define us or limit our ability to come together as a community.

Looking Ahead

The success of our second annual walkathon has only fueled our commitment to the Parkinson's community. At Radiant Superspeciality Hospital, we believe in the power of awareness, education, and community support in improving the lives of those affected by PD.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who participated and made this event a resounding success. Your presence and enthusiasm remind us why we do what we do.

As we look to the future, we're excited about the possibilities. This walkathon is more than an event; it's a movement. A movement of hope, resilience, and unwavering support for those living with Parkinson's disease.

Together, we walk. Together, we learn. Together, we fight Parkinson's disease.

Stay tuned for information about our next event. Because with every step, we're making strides against Parkinson's!
